Here at Biographile, we love sharing inspiring stories by and about icons, trailblazers, and everyday people. We also love hearing from you, especially when you make us laugh out loud with hilarious and fearlessly honest tales of your kitchen antics.

Thanks to all of you who entered our latest short memoir contest, centered around the theme "What's Your Funniest Kitchen Catastrophe?" From all the great entries, we had a tough time narrowing it down to the five most compelling essays, presented below. After you click through and read each of them, click "Like" on only your top choice in the Facebook Like widget on the left-hand side of that story's page. The essay with the most "Likes" by 11:59 PM EST on Monday, September 10 will be deemed the People's Choice winner. The staff of Biographile will also be choosing an editorial winner. Congratulations to all five finalists!

All five finalists in our contest will receive a copy of Bob Spitz's comprehensive biography "Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child."

The Editorial Winner will receive "Dearie" and the foolproof "Mastering the Art of French Cooking Boxed Set."

The People's Choice Winner will receive:
