Queen of the clothing side of punk rock, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood will soon have a life story you can read. Due out next October, and to be published by Picador, her biography will be the result of her collaboration with Ian Kelly -- who will pull together the words of Westwood’s friends and colleagues. Pixar founder Ed Catmull will write a memoir about the animation company he launched with with Steve Jobs in 1986 and made its way to Disney in 2006. Published by Random House, Catmull’s autobiography will be both a rare inside look at the groundbreaking animation and storytelling studio, and a study of the management and leadership skills that led the company to its thirty Oscars. The company is based on a careful balance between art and business, and trust in its employees. “People are inherently creative and able to solve problems," says Catmull. [via Hollywood Reporter]

Guitarist Johnny Marr, Morrissey’s musical partner in The Smiths and a crucial component of bands like Modest Mouse and The Cribs, too, has announced he’ll write a memoir of his own -- and that a publisher has signed on as well. Now that he’s committed, the multi-faceted musician will begin his project as soon as he can take a break from musical obligations: "I'll do it in the next couple of years. I want it to be so thorough that I don't make a record or tour whilst I was doing it.” [via Digital Spy]
